In this work we report the discovery of an F center in a novel quaternary alloy dielectric crystal, mixture of four alkali halide components. The F center is an electron trap in the crystalline matrix of the novel crystal. The X-ray diffractometry spectra show a crystal with a single phase that implies a single F band that was obtained by optical absorption spectrophotometry. The generalized Vegard's law, valid for a recently reported novel ternary crystal, was extended. The F band energy, obtained by a simple theoretical model and by an empirical relation near to the Mollwo-Ivey law, using the lattice constant obtained by X-ray diffractometry and extended Vegard's law, is calculated.
