Abstract

A stock of blue shrimp infected with infectious hypodermal and hematopoietic necrosis (IHHN) virus was inadvertently reared in earthen ponds in Sonora, Mexico, during a spring-summer season. Although survival of blue shrimp was poor, growth of the survivors was excellent and their appearance was healthy. The surviving blue shrimp were resistant to the IHHN virus. © 1992 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
