Abstract
A T-x projection of the phase diagram of the InAs-CdTe system has been plotted by means of physicochemical analysis. The diagram is of simple eutectic type, the composition of the eutectic is 28 mol% CdTe, and the melting point of the eutectic is 880 plus or minus 2 degree C. The solubility of the components in the solid phase amounts to 26 mol% CdTe in InAs and 35 mol% InAs in CdTe. A thermodynamic analysis of the diagram established that CdTe and InAs are almost entirely dissociated when present in the melt in small concentrations.
