Abstract

The current legislation in Spain has changed the criminal profile of youths in the Juvenile Justice System. This change is expected to affect the degree of delinquent recidivism. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the recidivism rate of juvenile offenders according to published investigations, as well as to conduct a meta-analysis on recidivism in Spain. The literature review identified a total of 27 studies that enabled the calculation of 45 effect sizes. Results showed that the variableś relationship wiThantisocial peers, violence in base offense, percentage of males in the study, physical abuse and substance abuse of families are related to recidivism.
