The aim of this work was to study citizen participation, which was considered as a complex behavior based on more simple conducts. The variables analyzed were private and social citizen participation, according to some authors and institutions. The participants were 91 university students, and the instrument applied was specially designed for this study with 46 items. Univariate statistics and structural modeling equations were obtained. The data showed that variables like belonging to a, following traffic rules, and payment of taxes influence to shape a model of citizen participation.
