Abstract

A full performance evaluation of a photonic lantern (PL) by transmitting microwave signals is carried out. The PL used in this experiment is composed by three single-mode fibers (SMF) and one of few-mode fiber (FMF). The PL is placed in a microwave photonic filter architecture, where individually is evaluated the transmission of modulated optical signals on the modes LP01, LP11a and LP11b. Results allow to propose the use of this PL in an optical system communication.
