Abstract

In recent years various types of multi-agent architecture have been proposed to make the development of certain knowledge management systems easier. However, most of these architectures have not taken into account the social aspects that frequently influence their use. For this reason, in this work we propose a multi-agent architecture that considers the trust and reputation factors necessary to guarantee the quality of information stored in these systems. This architecture was developed by considering the use of communities of agents to detect the most useful and trustworthy knowledge and knowledge sources of an organization. In our proposal, we first define the reputation concept used by the agents in the architecture. Later, the paper explains why we consider that software agents are suitable for this end and how they can work in order to attain their goals. A prototype that uses these agents is also described.
