Abstract

A quantum system of two ions, of equal or different electrical charge, is studied under the action of a harmonic potential and confined by an impenetrable spherical box. The energy spectrum and the corresponding wave functions are obtained. These wave functions are rendered using Volume Ray Casting in order to obtain a visual image of the effect of the Coulombian potential, the harmonic oscillator, the centrifugal potential, and the confining box.
