Abstract

In light of the theoretical contributions in the study of trans identity, we consider important to observe, from these new perspectives, how their constructive and representative processes have taken place in the Literature. For this reason, the objective of this chapter is to determine how transgender identity is constructed and represented in Fernando Zamora's novel Por Debajo del Agua (2002), since in this novel the theme of the protagonist and the characteristics of her story are fundamental in the understanding of how the character appears in a more complex way at the beginning of the 21st century.
