Resumen
The integration of technology in education requires digital competencies from its participants to enable them to use technology critically and safely to create innovative teaching and learning spaces. Hence, adequate levels of digital competence are needed to be able to use various educational tools to promote learning. The goal of this research was to assess the level of digital competence in the areas of communication and digital content creation of university students enrolled in a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences by outlining the practices involved in the previously mentioned dimensions. A quantitative approach methodology with descriptive characteristics and correlational scope was chosen. The design was non-experimental, cross-sectional and the survey was the data collection technique used by applying a Likert-type scale questionnaire. The results delimited intermediate levels of digital competence in university students and found little or no correlation between the dimensions addressed.
