Resumen

This paper is aimed at describing the evolutive strategy in which the University of Sonora is following for optimizing the organic and inorganic material life cycle in the products used on campus. The institutional strategy has be oriented towards new patterns of behaviors in order to integrate the principles of sustainability as a guideline for preventing, eliminating, and/or reducing the negative environmental and occupational impacts generated when performing university substantive functions of teaching, research, and outreaching and partnership as well as its management operation tasks.
