Resumen

The triboluminiscence (TbL) of poly(n-butyl methacrylate)-polyaniline composites is discussed. TbL of Poly(n-Butyl MethAcrylate) (PBMA) is included by mechanical scratching of cast samples of polymer and has characterized through a specially designed equipment. The PBMA and PBMA-PANi material are doped with DodecilBencenesulfonic Acid (DBSA) which is a commercial substance known to act as an agent to make compatible thermoplastics. The emissions detected by the photomultiplier tube from high density polyethylene (HDPE) and from PBMA shows the TbL response. The possible mechanisms for this phenomenon were also discussed to propose a whole novel family of luminescent materials.
